Derma Shield provides a highly effectively barrier against external allergens. In your case, it sounds as though the chlorine is causing a severe reaction and Derma Shield is likely to help reduce or even eliminate the problem.

Apply Derma Shield 5 to 10 minutes before you enter the pool. This will ensure that Derma Shield has time to bond with your skin and provide the waterproof barrier that will help prevent any external allergen from coming into direct contact with the upper layer of your skin. You should start to see an improvement in your condition in 4 to 8 days.

Derma Shield contains an antipruritic and skin moisturisers so it can be used at any time to help relieve the soreness.

As with any hyper-sensitivity, you should always patch test a small area of skin first when using a new product. I suggest you use Derma Shield on a small area of one of your arms first for a week. Not only will this allow you to verify that Derma Shield is suitable for your skin type, but you will also be given the opportunity to contrast the treated and untreated areas and identify just how much difference Derma Shield makes.

I am a swimming teacher and am finding the chlorine is severely causing me irritation on my neck and arms. The rash is very red and very sore, its not so much itchy but feels hot to touch! Do.you recommend derma shield for me? If so am I able to put it one before I go in the pool to prevent it from happening in the first place. Thanks

Derma Shield is formulated to protect the skin against external irritants.

As you say that your mother’s condition is a result of taking medication, the source of the skin irritation appears to be in response to ingested irritants and Derma Shield will not protect against these.

However, Derma Shield does contain an antipruritic and your mother may find that it gives her some relief from the itching even though it will not prevent the source of the irritation.

Hi is this safe to use on a newborn baby who has eczema on their face? Could the parabens interfere with their hormones, as per some studies conducted on topical use of parabens? I use it on my hands for dermatitis and it’s fantastic so I believe it would work well for my baby but want clarification. Many thanks

Could you please help me with a query – my mum has kidney failure which at the moment is being controlled but she is now suffering terrible itching bouts due to the medication. She has tried eurax cream, baby lotion and other aqueous creams without any relief – she is up during the night regularly with the prob do you think derma shield would help?? Any advice would be great.

Hi – my son is in the second year of his plumbing apprentiship and his hands are often in a terrible state of filth and open sores. I’ve just ordered 500ml of Derma Shield in the hope that it will provide the protection he needs over the long term, so will get back to you soon to provide some feedback…

Hi Tracie, Yes, Derma Shield can be used on any external part of the body. You need to be careful not to get any in your eyes, if you do, just rinse them out. Hi there

Can I use the cream all over my body for when I go swimming I have psorisis on elbows and I also wanted to make sure there were not too many ingredients that contained loads of parabens in your product

Dermashield is AMAZING. I got a can from a H&S show and last year my partner and I painted 2 shipping containers (so a lot of painting!) the paint was dark green external gloss paint. I remembered the demonstration from the show so used the cream before I started. My partner didn’t believe it would work so didn’t use it. After the painting was finished our hands were covered in paint and I just washed my hands and bingo they were clean in minutes. It took several days for my partner to get all the paint off his hands. Guess who is the first to use Dermashield when we do any painting!!
Brilliant and a small amount goes a long way.
